Web App Autopsy

Yeah - I’m not at CFUnited either :(

In between reading MXNA posts about that - I found this interesting article on Particletree: Web App Autopsy.

In this feature, we’d like to help you minimize those mistakes by dissecting 4 very different web application companies that are at varying stages of their life cycle. It’s good stuff and we’re hoping it’ll help you identify some trends that’ll make your predictions a bit more accurate.

Unfortunately non of them are ColdFusion applications but it is still a very interesting read. Lots of good graphs :) It was nice that the companies involved offered to participate and share the information.

As far as choice of language goes, all 4 companies are satisfied with their choices. In the end, it seems that choosing a language that you’re comfortable with can result in less lines of code and a quicker development time.
