Recently I’ve been messing around with trying out a few different web testing tools.
Canoo looked neat with it’s Ant syntax - but I could not find a user friendly way to create my tests. There was a Firefox plugin but it was unintuitive to use. I also found a Java applet but it was a bit cumbersome as well. I may spend a bit more time with it as I’ve talked to one or two folks who have said they find it superior to Selenium but I’m still not convinced.
I’ve had much better luck with Selenium. Mike Henke has also been doing some neat stuff with Selenium and sent me some links to his blog. He has done some great work integrating integrating Ant and Selenium!
To keep track of all this Selenium goodness - I’ve setup a Selenium wiki page here.
And this weekend I found this article which discusses how they use Selenium at Google:
Many projects at Google have started using or are considering using Selenium. We recently interviewed Noogler (new people to Google) Jason Huggins, who is the creator and developer of Selenium, to learn about how it all started and where it’s going.
I also need to check out Selenium RC (Remote Control) and see if that could be leveraged using ColdFusion.
What are you using for testing?
