Need Help With ColdFusion IDE Survey

Posted April 3rd, 2008. Filed under Code

Does anyone know of a good, free survey service? Or would anyone be willing to setup Ray Camden’s “Soundings” survey application and host a survey?

I’d like to mimic the Adobe IDE survey.

I thought this was a great survey but it is unlikely that Adobe is going to share this info with the unwashed masses. So I thought we could replicate it and collect our own data. There has been some discussion going on about the future of CFEclipse and regardless of who tackles this next, Mark, Aptana, Adobe – it seems like some open feedback on what people want to see in a IDE would be useful.

Ping me offline – I’ll host it for you.

  2. If you would like me to do a Soundings survey for you, I can, but you would need to wait till Monday. Traveling to SLC today for a conference.

    Jim,

Give http://www.surveymonkey.com/ a try. They have a free plan and offer some reporting capabilities as well.

    Jim,

When you say, Or would anyone be willing to setup Ray Camden’s “Soundings” survey application and host a survey?

Do you mean on a new separate domain or one of the existing domains?
If its not a new domain etc, I could probaly set one up…just send me a message and we can discuss.

    Cheers.

@Dan – I did look at Survey Monkey but their free offer limits the number of replies (100) if I read their site correctly.

@Ray – I can certainly wait til Monday. If you can host it and pepper it with a few ads I’d appreciate it!

@Todd, Anuj – thanks for the offer! If something comes up and Ray gets tied up I’ll ping you guys…

You can use google docs to do that too: http://chris.pirillo.com/2008/.....d-quizzes/

I haven’t tried it for anything real yet, but seems interesting, free, and easy to setup.

Google Spreadsheet now has a great new feature that allows you to create a form to catch spreadsheet data.

Create a spreadsheet, and then click ’share’ and goto ‘Form’.

It’s a quick and easy way to do a quick survey!

LOL – Mark – do you sit near Rob? You guys think alike :)

I may look into it – but Ray’s survey app really works well and is easy to implement and use.
