What Are You Reading?

I’m on a reading kick lately and looking for some suggestions.  I occasionally see recommendations get thrown about on Twitter but I forget to write them down.

I’ve got the SciFi covered, and I don’t particularly  care for coding related books (I absorb enough of that via the web).

What I AM interested in is processes, management, inspirational, presentations, marketing, change control, etc.

Right now I’m reading:

  • The Big Moo edited by Seth Godin (who has several other really good looking books that I’ve got on order from library)
  • Roadshow by Neil Peart (Drummer from Rush – “A concert tour by motorcycle”)

A few on my radar from my wishlist:

So, what are your reading??  Fire away in the comments!

  1. I’ve read 4 of Seth Godin’s books and I’d recommend all of them: Purple Cow, The Dip, Tribes, and All Marketers are Liars. Other non-software books I’ve liked are “The 4 Hour Work Week” by Tim Ferriss and “Getting Things Done” by David Allen.

While “Code Complete” by McConnel is a Software book, I still think it needs to be mentioned as an excellent text.

  2. Currently reading “Click: What millions of people are doing and why it matters”, “Made to Stick” and about to start “Changing the Game: How video games are Transforming the Future of Business”.

For fun, I’m a few books behind on The Dresden Files and the latest Star Wars books.

  3. I am reading Reality Check by Guy Kawasaki right now. While it isn’t his best book so far I’ve found it valuable.

If you’ve ever had to demonstrate and sell software his book on what he learned as an evangelist at Apple, Selling the Dream is excellent. Even though this book predates the web its advice is timeless.
