Shinko 712: This was my last set. 100% street tire. Excellent grip in the corners and street. Lasted about 6100 miles and then it was like somebody sanded my tires and took all the tread and grip with it. The wet grip was OK but not great. After about 3,500 - 4,000 miles though the wet grip got progressively worse and it was only OK to begin with. One really nice point. The front tire aspect of 110/90-19 resulted in the speedometer being only 2-3 miles an hour off at 75 according to my GPS, Friend of mine who is a Police officer tested his radar gun and new laser gun also (on controlled pavement) and read just almost exactly the same. It was sort of a novel experience having a speedometer reading correctly. Bottom line – great tire of the price. But only OK compared to others.

Distanzia: I absolutely hated them. Was like riding slicks on wet pavement and the should be called Short-Stanzias. They were toast faster than any other tire I have ever used. 4,500 miles and they had to be changed.

Tourance: Expensive, great grip on street, in the rain and on dirt. Gravel was OK too. Altough I really don't do a lot of gravel I really liked them and they lasted almost 6,500 miles and still could have been ridden a tad more. Pricey though.

Continental Trail Attack: It was like putting power steering on a VStrom. Really handed great. Cornered outstandingly. Very good in rain and wet – equal to tourance. I thought Tourance was just a bit better on dirt and gravel; but that is picking nits. Lasted about 5,500 miles.

Metzler Z-6: Incredible grip in rain and on streets. Despite the tread pattern it was surprisingly good on dirt and in creek crossings. Not up to Tourance levels but surprisingly good. Best street tire I have ever had. Lasted about 6,500 - 7,000 miles. But is very difficult to determine how the tread is wearing because there is no tread across middle. And I have a heck of a time finding wear bars. The result is that I probably take off a bit soon. I use this tire on my FJR and ST1300 exclusively. It is a sidewall which probably counts for its longevity. As I said I am sure I take off a bit early because I am conservative.

Trailwings. Came with the tire, and because of dealer I kept on for first 2 tire changes. I don't like them. Short treadlife and to me they were death in rain. I won't buy ever again.

Dunlop 607: I have them on now. About 1,500 miles on them. So far so good. Rain grip is adequate. Not as confidence inspiring as the Z-6, Tourance or Road Attacks. But not bad and not sqirrely at all. Based on current wear I would hope for around 6,000 miles out of them.

Anakee: Very similar to Tourance just didn't last as long.
